Ever sat by the river wondering why you do it?
Last night while sitting by the river in the freezing mist, with a nearly full moon, a clear sky and the air temperature hovering just below -3. My landing net frozen to the bank, ice forming on my bag, the rod rings had ice in them and my beard was whiter than normal I began to doubt my sanity!
Why do I do it, I really cannot tell you but it makes you glad to be alive!
I did wonder :-),honest been away down at the old mans for a cupla days for his 65th Birthday "Do".And Friday night I thought......."I bet that daft ****** is out you know where.:-)
ReplyDeleteBecause the next cast could catch the one you've been after!
ReplyDeleteI asked myself the same question during this cold weekend Tom.
ReplyDeleteI wonder all the time. Just one of those mysteries. ;) But I suppose that is what keeps us coming back to the waters...not knowing why. So heaven forbid I should ever figure it out and stop.
ReplyDeleteI was think "Why" last weekend while up to my waist in the river casting flies for Pike surrounded by Icicles, that was until the line tightened and the rod bent, it's funny how landing a fish or two can warm you up eh? In stark contrast it was 15 degrees yesterday by the river, and guess what? i almost blanked!
